Open House Stockholm syftar till att involvera allmänheten i stadens utveckling och stimulera intresset för arkitektur och samhällsbyggande. Open House Stockholm är en del av det globala nätverket Open House Worldwide samt har ett treårigt samarbetsprojekt med Open House Europe.
Open House Stockholm
Allmänheten bjuds in till gratis guidade visningar av stadens mest unika och spännande byggnader och platser. Festivalen syftar till att involvera allmänheten i stadens utveckling och stimulera intresset för arkitektur och samhällsbyggande. Festivalen arrangeras i hela Storstockholmsområdet. Open House Stockholms första festival genomfördes 2016.
Festivalen arrangeras av den ideella föreningen Open House Stockholm.
About the festival
In 2020 Open House Stockholm celebrated its fifth anniversary. During the event the public are invited to seminars about, and tours of, unique buildings and places, all for free! Aligned to the objectives of the Open House concept, the aim of the festival is to involve the public in discussion about the city’s development and growth, and stimulate interest in good architecture and the build environment. Open House Stockholm is a part of the global network, Open House Worldwide, is organised by a not-for-profit organisation of the same name, and was founded by the following four organisations
Open House Europe
Open House Europe är ett samarbetsprojekt mellan 13 europeiska Open House-städer med en gemensam vision om att främja arkitektur och samhällsbyggnad som en positiv förändringskraft.
Projektet medfinansieras av Europeiska Unionen.
Open House Worldwide
Open House grundades i London 1992 av Victoria Thornton. Hennes vision var att riva barriärerna mellan arkitektkåren och allmänheten. Därför bjöd hon in Londons invånare till öppet hus där de fick chansen att uppleva hur arkitektur utvecklar staden. Open House var fött. Sedan dess har festivalen etablerats i drygt 55 storstäder över hela världen, och lockar över 2 miljoner besökare varje år.
About Open House Worldwide
The Open House concept was founded in London in 1992 by Victoria Thornton OBE, HonFRIBA, with the aim of fostering a better understanding of architecture outside the profession. The core of this idea lay in the direct experience of the buildings themselves, accessible for free to all, with opportunities to learn, discuss and debate with experts and citizens alike.
